The chalet Pachuca is a timber frame chalet . It has three bedrooms a Kitchenette and sitting room, shower and toilet. Comfortably sleeping 6 with the possibility of utilising the sofa bed.

During your stay

We have a keyholder on site and another nearby in case of emergencies and the owners can respond quickly if needed.

History

The chalet was originaly a post war 'pre-fab' erected nearby in Illogan. The building was sold to a couple of retired miners when the new housing estate was build and moved to the site at Gwithian. While its been refurbished a few times you can still see the original roof and some of the walls are still clad in the metal sheeting from the factories that built Spitfires and Hurricanes for the second world war.

Drains

The site has no mains drainage so each unit has a sceptic tank drain and we ask visitors to use eco friendly cleaning products and only flush toilet paper, to aviod blockages.

Security

Its a friendly and safe site, with a neighbourhood scheme in place, we have very little crime or annoyance. We do recomend that visitors keep the chalet locked and take care of thier valuables when out on the beach and dunes.

Pachuca is one of the last few family owned and run Chalets on the Towans, It is much loved by its owners and those visitors who come back year after year.. We have had families who came for years with thier children and then those children coming back as adults with thier own children. Its a homely place that avoids over commercialisation and yet has a timeless comfortable feel. The Chalet is hosted by Bob and Tamsin who have holidayed on the Towans for three generations, watching the changes and recent gentrification of the area. remaining true to its family holiday roots, Pachuca is one of the best known Self catering holiday lets locally and the Summer season is almost always booked by the people that come back time and time again. Still affordable, it has all that you need for a fabulous holiday is this magical, timeless, almost completely unspoilt bit of Cornwall.
